TV: Could you live without it?

Before answering the question I feel like making a clear definition about what the TV is really essential. Usually people associate the word TV with only TV set. This tendency suggest that some may think that TV is not so important when it is compared to past. Because smart phone, laptop, iPad and many other devices are able to replace TV set. Even some people value these items more than a TV set. However, the correct definition of television is a telecommunication medium for transmitting and receiving moving images that can be  colored or not  with or without accompanying sound. It means that the term TV itself includes smart phone, computer, and all sorts of electronic equipment showing moving images. With this definition in mind I would suggest that it is getting very hard to live without television. Not to mention people using smart phone, laptop and others, people who don't have any sorts of these devices can't be freed. Imagine subway which you took in the morning. Do you remember seeing a movie trailer or a notice about approaching subway from screen? How about in streets? Do you remember seeing a music video from TV screen outside convenience store? There is no way to avoid TV unless you live in a cave.

TV: Could you live without it?

The term television not only imply television set but also suggest any telecommunication mediums for transmitting and receiving moving images with sound. According to this, only considering television set is not that appropriate as smart phone, iPad, laptops and others showing videos are all kinds of television. With this fact I can’t remove television in my life. This morning I took a subway to Jegi-dong station to attend TOEIC. Inside subway from 8 inch monitor installed above door I saw news about coming nuclear summit and public advertisement about safety regulations. In street, I noticed several idol groups’ music videos through glass from screen installed in convenience store’s wall. At big mart’s beef section such as Walmart I can watch videos showing how the cattle were like. Considering optical image accompanying sound is able to convey lots of information in a short time compared to using only sound and letters, television technology is becoming popular in various fields not to mention in advertisement but in education using video materials to help students to understand the lesson, in cooking showing how to cook, in research to save data and so on. I think that it is getting harder to live without television technology than past even I don’t like to television. As time goes by there will be no way to avoid TV unless you are a caveman.
