SON NA RAE / LIFE WITHOUT TV

Life without TV

There are two ways of experience: in a direct way and in an indirect way. The best tool for the latter is TV. Through watching TV, people can get plenty of information and knowledge. In my case, I love being exotic: learning foreign languages, cooking other countries' traditional food, and so on. But if I want to know more about my interest, the limitation challenged me. I can't visit every single country only for the reason I want to know and experience. I can't afford the fare and time. This is why I enjoy watching TV. It lets me get much educational or interesting information about various countries. If a person asks me "can you live without TV?" then I would ask back to the person. "can you learn without teacher?"

  1. Hi, I am Kim you jin. I like your introduction. It interests me and let me have curious about What story will be going on? : ) Also your structure is very sistemic. I can feel your effort to arrange your thoughts depend on the easier way people get ideas. It is also good to relate your life to Why TV is important for you. Also, I want to envy your ending. You use a metaphor and It is memorable way to explain. BUT Why don't you add some stories to make it more smoothly? If you add your own detail story, for example, you can say which country you like most and how you can get information about THAT country by TV, Your writing will be better. Thank you! See you monday : )

  2. Hi I'm WanSoo Cho ,
WoW! I really like your writting! It's concise and clear.
There isn't nothing much to point out.. especially, I love your expression 'can you learn without teacher?' it condese your opinion about the topic and make audience to think one more. So i think it will be more better to put it at first. Also if you add more specific examples (like especially what program made you think that way), your writting could be more great.

  3. Hi, I'm ChaiHyun Nah from your monday writing class. My favorite part in your writing was the conclusion. It is clear and catchy. I also liked your sentences since they were simple and easily understandable. However I thought your writing needs a bit more specific details and it would be whole lot better if you includes some counter arguments about watching TV and gave solutions to overcome that point of view. Thank you and see you on monday!

There are two ways of experience: in a direct way and in an indirect way. The best tool for the latter is TV. Through watching TV, people can get plenty of information and knowledge by the program such as documentaries, news and so on. In my case, I love being exotic: learning foreign languages, cooking other countries’ traditional food, and so on. I learn how to Mexican food by watching Jamie Oliver at home and experience indirectly the American culture by watching various soap drama. But if I have no TV and I want to satisfy my desire from the interest, the limitation challenged me. I can’t visit every single country only for the reason I want to know and experience. I can’t afford the fare and time. This is why I enjoy watching TV. It lets me get much educational or interesting information about various countries. That means, I usually enjoy watching the programs, which are beneficial to me. I put some standard to the programs whether they provide me of good effect or not; I do not make a choice if the program include any of violent scene or harm effect to me. I only utilize it has advantage for me to develop myself. If a person asks me “Can you live without TV?” then I would ask back to the person. “Can you learn without teacher?”
