AnYeonju&Leejaehun_Teachers

Memory of teachers

Accrording to the Korean education system, we meet at least fifty different teachers in school, university and other kinds of classes. Of course, I don't remember all of them; I don't even remember some of  their names or faces, and other of them are unforgettable, even if I want to forget them.
I remember Mr. Choi, the history teacher that I met in the middle school. He was an enthusiastic teacher who prepare hand-outs, Powerpoint shows and various materials for every class. Also, he tried various activities in class. For example, once in his class about the Korea War, Mr. Choi suddenly turned the light off and shaded down the curtains. All the students, including me was surprised, and curious about what he would do. He turned a video clip that was filmed in the real war front. For next twenty minutes I was almost crying watching the miserable and frustrating war site and those half naked orphans who are left helpless. I had naver imagined a history class could be that emotional and touching. Until now, that Mr. Choi's class is the best class I've ever took part in. Of course I can't forget him too.
I can't forget Mr.Lee, the physical education teacher from my highschool. I remeber him as the most evil person in my life. He always brought a stick, which looked like either a billy club or a pipe. He did not hesitate wield this stick and use it to beat students whenever he got upset. He got upset too often; he was extremely short-tempered, recalling him now, I even assume that he had some phychological problems. He was a type of people whom people avoid, not because he makes them scared, but because he annoys and irritates them. He always tried to find something wrong of students: he blamed students, picking their grades, attitude, or appearance, whenever he came across students. It makes me more mad that he didn't treat every student equal. He loved students who were from rich families as if they had been his own kids. Mr. Lee had all the characters that can be seen in the worst kind of teachers.
Teachers are, by their nature, supposed to affect their students' lives. This influence of teachers makes student to remember their teachers in various ways. Thus teachers should bear in mind that their behavior in class and attitude toward their students directly affect on their student's life not only for now, but also in the future.

  1. Hi, I am Kim you jin. this is your comment.
first of all, you organized paragraph well. that is, it is well balanced by arranging both good teacher and bad teacher. you gave examples about your good teacher and also gave particularies. i can catch it in line 7. however, i think quotation and illustration are rather weaker. especially in bad teacher, i can't find illustaration. i think illustaration should be more story-telling but your paragraph is more explaining about characteristics than story telling. also, quotation is the same.
    thank you .

  2. Hello, this is Dana Eun and here's my comment on your writing.
I liked your writing because you gave detailed information about the teachers you had. Your supportings were very clear and well described. It was easy to picture the moments you had with each teacher. Your word choices to describe the characteristics of the second teacher was very good. Also I liked how you gave specific example of the teaching method of the first teacher.
However, there is one thing that you might be able to improve and that's quotation. You did not use any quotations and if you did, it could have been much better. FOr example, for the second teacher, you can write down the mean things he said to the students.

Thanks for sharing your writing! See you in class:)

  3. Hi, this is SunGyung Kim and thanks for your wonderful writing. This is the most well-organized one I've ever read, regarding the same topic.

First, you include opening and closing in your writing, and these make your piece of writing much stronger and ingriguing. Especially, I love the opening which attracted me by mentioning that we meet as many as 50 teachers in our lives. And, both two body includes good examples and illustration for each good and bad teacher.

However, your writing is quite long, and so it is easy for readers to lack focus. Of course, your one is interesting enough, but it would be much better if you cut down unnecessary things a little bit more than now.

Thanks and see you in class soon ! :)
