How To Give A Memorable Gift

Last year, one of my friend's birthday was coming. She had given me an wonderful gift on my birthday, and I also wanted to give her a memorable gift. After thinking a lot, I chose something to give her as a birthday present. Fortunately, she loved it and was very grateful to me. Do you also want to give an unforgettable gift to your friend? Here are some steps I used. First, think of her habit and taste. Think where she go and what she do frequently. Or think of the topic she would talk about. Through this step, you can choose a kind of present. I recognized that my friend usually read a book, especially a mistery book. Second, find out which book is popular. Preference for particular book is different from person to person, so it is difficult to choose a book which your friend will like. At a time like this, find a book ranking. You can reduce risk of choosing a book that your friend will not be interested in. By searching the Internet, I could find the book ranking. And I chose one among books which are on the list. Finally, write a card. Write down how much you celebrate your friend's birthday. If you make a card yourself, it would be great! You can express your mind more effectively through a card. If you need to buy a birthday present for your friend, follow these steps. The gift will remain on your friend's memory.

  1. Hi. This is Lee Myungjae.
Thank you for sharing your way of choosing a gift. The topic sentence of your writing might be 'Do you also want to give an unforgettable gift to your friend? Here are some steps I used.' although it's technically not one sentence. Your writing contains background information in the beginning, and I think you made pretty good start. Time order words used in your writing are 'first, second, and finally'. In general, I think the steps you organized are easy to follow, but I was confused on the way reading it because your topic suddenly changed from 'how to choose a gift' into 'how to choose a book'. I understand you intended to narrow down to your case, but it seemed that the step is a bit off the topic.Otherwise it was nice. Thank you:)

  3. it is so sweet to find the sentence 'If you make a card yourself, it would be great! You can express your mind more effectively through a card.' because many students mentioned all about the present, but the card. and you did. I think, when it comes to the gift, the mind of giver is the most important. but many of us miss the thing; writing a card, sending a message. I think if somebody writes, focusing on the card, not on the present, It would be unique and genuine. I enjoyed your writing. thanks
