A sense of place/ Kim Ji Su

My sense of place.

Have you heard the word 'butter finger'? It refers to a dish that is so delicious that you have to lick your fingers. Then can you imagine how delicious the food can be when it is a name of a dining place? The butter finger is a famous brunch restaurant in Korea. You can eat variety of brunch assortments there. It's located at the very center of Gang-nam, which is the busiest quarter in Seoul city. The place has been selected as the hottest place due to the inserts of people from all over the world including famous celebrities. However, the reason why I choose the place as my sense of place does not rely on the fact that it's the most hottest and delicious dining place in the city. I picked this place because of the memories I had on there.

I used to have brunch with my friends in my high school years, chatting and gossiping as if we were the girls in sex and the city. I remember taking the part carie bradshaw, since I was the one who always make trouble. In school, we were just an ordinary teenage girls, but in the butter finger we were able to forgot all the stresses and study loads. Whenever we felt down, all four of us agreed to meet at Butter finger. When we taste the slice of pancakes which was deeply dipped in to the shiny syrup bowl, we were able to let go of our headaches and pains.

Now, it is hard for us to gather around and chat since we entered universities, and it is no longer an easy task to make an appointment for brunch. However, no matter how many years have passed, butter finger still presence at the very place when I was a young teenage girl It has always been there and always be there.

  1. it is NA RAE SON!
    what a lovely writing!

You have added the meaning into a normal place to others,
For me, the restaurant "Butter Fingers" was just the insanely crowded place. But in case of you, the meaning changed totally.
I love your cute teenage memories.
But I think there are more rooms to magnify the food.
you must have not eaten just pancakes.
please add more details on the food such as crunch bacons, fresh eggs, milky and sticky shakes or something like this.
    Thanks!

I would like to introduce some of the main dishes at the restaurant. The food title is very unique. For instance, there's " a pandora box" which refers to a scrumtious desert cakes and syrups which is so delicious that you should have never ordered it:-). Also there's "Death by chocolate", which literally means you may die on eating this dessert since the served cake along with it is so deeply dipped in the chocolate syrup, it's deadly.
